NTT DoCoMo and KT Freetel announced on May 27 that they will jointly purchase 3G mobile phone models from LG through the BTCC (Business & Technology Cooperation Committee), a committee set up by the two telecoms in 2006, in a bid to jointly boost market opportunities and reduce procurement costs, according to a press release by NTT DoCoMo.

According to JCN Newswire, NTT DoCoMO plans to market the mobile phone - LG WINE - as the FOMA L706ie in Japan, starting in August 2008. Meanwhile, KT Freetel plans to launch the same product in Korea one month later.
